Image
FlashProg is USB base flash memory programmer to work with 3.3V serial flash memory devices. This programmer is specifically design to read, program and configure 25x series, serial flash memory devices which are commonly used to store BIOS in PC mainboards. Originally we design this project to read and program BIOS of Foxconn G31MXP mainboard. Our version of G31MXP contains Macronix MX25L8005 8M-Bit serial flash memory and we use this programmer to load some of our custom BIOS to this serial memory. [ ]

USB Switch Circuit Diagram

Image
Anyone experimenting or developing USB ported peripheral hardware soon be comes irritated by the need to disconnect and connect the plug  in order to reestablish communication with the PC. This process is necessary for example each time the peripheral equipment is reset or a new version of the firmware is installed. As well as tiresome it eventually leads to excessive contact wear in the USB connector. The answer is to build this electronic isolator which disconnects the peripheral device at the touch of a button. This is guaranteed to reduce any physical wear and tear and restore calm once again to the workplace.  Circuit image :   USB Switch Schematic Circuit Image The circuit uses a quad analogue switch type 74HC4066. Two of the switches in the package are used to isolate the data path. The remaining two are used in a classic bistable flip-flop configuration which is normally built using transistors. A power MOSFET switches the power supply current to the USB device....

Type of USB connectors

Image
USB connector there are only 2 kinds, namely the connector type A and type B connector, as shown below. Type A connector used to connect the USB cable into the USB terminal on the back of the computer the last few years of production. Type B connector used to connect the USB cable into the USB terminal on the equipment, for a simple USB devices, such as mouse, usually do not use the connector B, to save cost in the cable directly connected to the inside of the mouse. Specified in the standard reference pesyaratan very strict to USB cable, not just the cable can be used, all the more for USB full-speed transfer of data to 1.2 Mega bps. So that the USB cable always sold as a ready-made, one end attached to the connector type A and the other end attached to the connector type B, no one sells it off the USB connector. On the computer, usually there are two terminals for connector type A, so it can easily be paired with 2 pieces of USB devices. Manufacturing company that makes the ...

USB Standby Killer Circuits Diagram

Image
When turning a computer on and off, various peripherals (such as printers, screen, scanner, etc.) often have to be turned on and off as well. By using the 5-V supply voltage from the USB interface on the PC, all these peripherals can easily be switched on and off at the same time as the PC. This principle can also be used with other appliances that have a USB interface (such as modern TVs and radios).  USB Standby Killer Circuit Diagram : This so-called ‘USB-standby-killer’ can be realised with just 5 components. The USB output voltage provides for the activation of the triac-opto driver (MOC3043) which has zero-crossing detection. This, in turn, drives the TRIAC, type BT126.  The circuit shown is used by the author for switching loads with a total power of about 150 W and is protected with a 1-A fuse. The circuit can easily handle much larger loads however. In that case and/or when using a very inductive load a so-called snub-ber network is required across the triac. The val...

Mushkin Atom 3 0 USB flash drive introduced

Image
I am quite sure that by now, many of us have already amassed quite a collection of USB flash drives over the months and years that have gone by. Hardly any conference or road show is devoid of a USB flash drive which more often than not contains the press release of a particular company, or a portfolio of new products. Having said that, it can be pretty difficult trying to keep track of just where exactly have you placed that particular file over in the myriad of USB flash drives that you have in your collection, and instead get a personal USB flash drive for yourself so that you can keep personal things private and secure. Just in case you are in the market scouting for a new USB flash drive, have you considered checking out the Mushkin Atom 3.0? The Mushkin Atom 3.0 USB flash drive will place plenty of emphasis on convenience, where it comes in an extremely small form factor which is slightly less than the size of your average quarter. All of this without having to sacrifice on perfo...

3A Power supply for USB devices

Image
This is 5V 3A power supply to drive two USB based devices simultaneously. This power supply is design around LM2576-5.0 switching regulator IC and the main reasons to choose this IC is its low parts count, small heat sink requirements and its inbuilt current limit protection feature. We specially design this power supply to work with development boards / single board computer (SBC) platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Banana Pi, BeagleBone, etc. This power supply can also be used to provide power to USB OTG peripherals over USB Y cables. USB 5V to 12V DC DC Step Up Converter by LT1618

Image
This circuit is a 5v to 12 DC-DC step-up converter circuit which is specially ideal for the usb powered applications. A usb has two current supply modes. Before deecting the connected device the maximum supplies is 100mA to the load.when recognizing device its increases the output current up to 500mA.the controller (LT1618) also provides two input currents modes 100mA and 500mA which is selected by the user. Output currents are limited due to the increased potential difference at the output. When the demand of the load increases, output voltage will start to decrease. For example, if the circuit operates in the 100 mA input mode, when the load is 35 mA, the output voltage will be kept at 12V. But if the load increases to 50 mA, output voltage will reduce to 8V to maintain the constant 100 mA input current.

USB Power Booster

Image
Power shortage problems arise when too many USB devices connected to PC are working simultaneously. All USB devices, such as scanners, modems, thermal printers, mice, USB hubs, external storage devices and other digital devices obtain their power from PC. Since a PC can only supply limited power to USB devices, external power may have to be added to keep all these power hungry devices happy. This circuit is designed to add more power to a USB cable line. A sealed 12V 750 mA unregulated wall cube is cheap and safe. To convert 12 V to 5 V, two types of regulators, switching and linear are available with their own advantages  and drawbacks. USB Power Booster Circuit Diagram The switching regulator is more suitable to this circuit because of high efficiency and compactness and now most digital circuits are immune to voltage ripple developed during switching. The simple switcher type LM2575-5 is chosen to provide a stable 5V output voltage. This switcher is so simple it just needs three...
